Buildie Oy was founded to improve the quality of infrastructure construction in the Nordic countries.
Buildie's story
Behind Buildie’s creation and growth are the founders Taneli Ristmeri and Petri Saarinen. Ristmeri brought his first-hand experience and knowledge of the construction industry to the company, whereas Saarinen brought his technical competence and views on software development. From day one, Buildie’s mission has been to improve the quality of construction, which is still the company’s primary mission and driving force.
The first official product version of Buildie was launched in early 2016, after which the company has grown with an increasing speed. This has not been a matter of luck; we have worked hard with strong goals. From the early days of the company, our sights have been set on growth an global markets. We still make things happen through our values, which are to remain fresh, innovative, laid-back and energetic. The product development of the Buildie application is performed in-house, as are our customer support services.
Buildie seeks growth and understands the skilled and motivated staff needed for it. Each team has their own employee promises that support a good employee and customer service experience. Our goal-oriented approach can also bee seen in the fact that Buildie will never develop a functionality that would be worse than that of a competitor. Additionally, in new markets, Buildie is aiming for the market leader position it has in Finland by offering the industry’s best field tool for infrastructure construction worksites.

Board
Kim Väisänen
Serial entrepreneur and investor; Chairman and Board Member for half a dozen companies in several industries. Co-Founder and ex-CEO of Blancco Ltd, the market leader of data erasure products in Europe, the US and Japan. Angel investor in +10 companies, Chairman or Board Member in most of them. Kim started his career by founding Blancco Ltd on 1997. He led the company for 15 years and grew it into international success, until it was sold to London Stock Exchange listed company on 2014. After that, Kim has been focusing on private investments. Kim is a well-recognized columnist and blogger for several newspapers and online publications, as well as a popular public speaker in Finland.
Hannu Turunen
Previously has served as CEO, Member of the Board and Chairman of the Board of Stonesoft Oyj and held business development posts at Oracle Finland and Cultor Oyj. Other positions of trust: Chairman of the Board at Youredi Oy, Chairman of the Board at Magnolia Ventures Oy, Member of the Board at Buildie Oy, Member of the Board at Timegate Instruments Oy.
Panu Wilska
Panu has held a wide range of executive positions within the technology industry from highly technical roles all the way to CEO, sales & marketing. He has established international presence of many Finnish SW and hi-tech companies with specific focus in the US and Asian markets. Currently he acts as Chairman of the Board for Buildie and serves as board member and with senior advisory & early stage investor roles in many Finnish and foreign companies. Companies he has worked with in the past include Stonesoft (US Operations, IPO), Hybrid Graphics (acquired by NVIDIA), NVIDIA (V.P. of Mobile sales), drawElements (acquired by Google) , LOTS, ZX-Mesh and Cleamix.
